Families
We designed our ecovillage for 35-40 families. Such number of families allows to have fillable school and kindergarten and to be solid community.
Ecovillage area is 70 acres: about 0.7 acres for each family; the rest area for common projects: agriculture and farm, workshops, playgrounds, guest houses, ponds, school and kindergarten (look up “What we intend to build in ecovillage”).
Each family self-manages its own piece of land.
School and Kindergarten
Our main common cause is building of school and kindergarten where children of villagers and visiting children study.
To attract good teachers they are chargeable. We see them self-sustaining.
Agriculture
We prize health nourishing and are going to develop biodynamical agriculture. We especially greet gardeners, farmers, bee-keepers…
Commodity-money relations
To simplify economic interaction and prevent possible conflicts we realize all activity (excluding social labor) on the basis of commodity-money relations. One family keeps the cow and sells milk to villagers, other family holds an apiary and sells honey etc.
However, we try to make netting where possible.
Mode of life
We want to optimize our mode of life. Life in ecovillage must be more comfortable and cheaper than one-by-one life. Families will have possibility to use common store and to participate in joint purchases. We try to minimize transport costs.
Business
We greet businessmen in ecovillage. The more villagers income increases, the more the more increase resources to develop ecovillage.
Important — business should not conflict with our values.
Charity
We are going to do charity work. In particular, to help orphans: adopt them, invite in our summer camps, collaborate with children homes, consult families who want to adopt children.
It will do not all, only those who are interested in charity.
Eco-friendliness
Adhering sustainable development and permaculture concepts, we will do as much as we can to leave the environment for future generations in the same — or even a better — condition than it is today. We seek to
- Pick and utilize waste;
- Reduce disposable things and packages;
- Reduce expenditure of water and electricity;
- Use energy and resource-saving technologies;
- Use renewable energy sources;
- Use eco-friendly household chemicals;
- Use organic fertilizers in agriculture and grow organic products;
- Map out our settlement to save ecosystem on our own and nearby territories.
